Puravent first introduced EVEL’s HVLS (High-Volume, Low-Speed) large industrial Destratification fans to the UK market in January 2019. This range complements the Puravent’s existing highly regarded offering of Destratification and Air-Moving equipment for the retail and commercial markets.
Manufactured in Italy these 5-bladed fans with diameters ranging from 2.5 to 7 metres can move as much as 850,000m3/h of air while consuming just over 0.5kW.
In April the first UK sales were achieved to a Norwich based manufacturing company specialising in production of precision-engineered mould, die and press tooling for the plastics, composites and metals industries. The fans are installed in a factory area where the precision equipment is manufactured.
5 x 4000mm diameter aluminium-bladed fans, each covering a floor area of 180m2 and moving 350,000m3/h of air are installed at 7m above floor level and operate at only 100rpm giving exceedingly quite operation (<55dBa).
The destratification fans take in the warmer ceiling air and transport it to the floor in a slow-moving column to create a better working environment and greatly reduce total energy consumption. In winter the most significant benefit is a considerable reduction in the cost of heating to create the optimum working/storage environment. During summer months HVLS destratification fans provide low-cost ventilation, reducing or eliminating the need for air conditioning.
